Family Values

Dennis and Jennifer have been married for thirty-six years. They have six daughters, four sons-in-law and one grand-daughter. Kristen, Caleb and Kathleen, Micah and Karen, Daniel and Kourtney, Duane and Kimberly and Andrea, and Kellie.

The Pyle family enjoys spending time together camping, fishing, hunting, playing volleyball, and many other outdoor family activities.


Senator Dennis Pyle represents Kansas' 1st Senate district. Dennis Pyle served in the Kansas House prior to being elected to the Kansas Senate in 2004.

The 1st Senate district includes the following counties: Atchison, Brown, Doniphan, Jackson, Nemaha, and parts of Marshall, and Pottawatomie.

Dennis is a fourth generation grain and livestock farmer.

Dennis attended Hiawatha Schools. He attended Grace College of the Bible in Omaha, NE.

Dennis served on the Republican Party Platform Committee in 1998.

Dennis currently serves on Senate Education, Natural Resources, and Local Government committees. Dennis is the Chair of the Local Government committee.

Dennis Pyle has previously served on Senate Agriculture, Taxation, Utilities, Federal and State Affairs, Ethics, Elections and Local Government (has chaired this committee in the past), and Natural Resources. Dennis has also previously served on Joint committee on Special Claims Against the State, The Joint committee on Children's Issues, and The Joint committee on State and Tribal Affairs.

Past House committees include Transportation, Taxation, and Social Services Budget committees. Other responsibilities have included serving on the Resolutions committee of the Midwest Council of State Governments, American Legislative Exchange Tax and Fiscal Policy committee. Dennis is also a past member of the Board of Directors of the U.S. Highway 36 Association.
